The Boys on Prime Video is loosely based on the graphic novels. And I say very loosely. While some storylines come up, most of them don’t. It means we can’t look at Black Noir in the comic books and get an idea as to where the story will go in the TV series.

That being said, the graphic novels are interesting. The characters are well thought out, and they have some major twists. Black Noir certainly does.

In the TV series, we’ve said goodbye to this iteration of Black Noir. The Payback team member who was behind the mask is gone. However, Black Noir is one of those characters that can live on. The show just needs to put someone else under the mask, and it looks like that will happen. Is this inspiration from the Black Noir comic book story?

Who is Black Noir in the The Boys comic books?

The Boys told us that Black Noir was a secondary villain in the story. He is one of the members of The Seven, and he pretty much does as he is told.

That is until he doesn’t. It turned out that Black Noir is a clone of Homelander. On top of that, he was the one to rape Butcher’s wife, Becky in the comics, and sexually assault Starlight. It wasn’t Homelander at all. This all finally explained why Homelander had no memory of doing things many claimed he had done.

Black Noir is much stronger—physically and mentally—than his TV show counterpart. He is able to kill Homelander in the comic books, although he does sustain some serious damage. Butcher is the one to finally kill him, but it takes the help of the United States military to take him down.

It looks like The Boys isn’t going to follow this. Well, that is not just yet. There is always the possibility that we’ll get some of this play out when there’s a new man under the Black Noir mask. However, Homelander was the one to attack Becca and there wasn’t the same sexual assault on Starlight as there was in the comics, so that whole part of the story isn’t likely to happen.
