Beacon 23 get some great news about the show's future
If you love Hugh Howey’s novels, you will have immediately checked out the MGM+ series Beacon 23. The series is based on the novel by the Wool series author, and it’s the latest of his books to get an adaptation.
This story is set in the furthest part of the Milky Way on a lighthouse known as Beacon 23. Lena Headey and Stephan James play Aster and Halan, two people in the beacon who end up entangled by the fates. Aster finds herself as a lonely beacon keeper at the end of the universe, but Halan isn’t sure whether she’s friend or foe.
The season ended with a great cliffhanger, and fans have had to wait to find out if there would be more to the story. MGM+ has some excellent news.
Beacon 23 Season 2 will arrive in 2024
Yes, the season has officially been renewed. This wasn’t too surprising as AMC and Spectrum, who are behind the development of the series, had already renewed the series. We were just waiting for MGM+ to put a greenlight on actually showing the episodes. After all, we know from TNT that just because a show is renewed and filmed it doesn’t mean that it will air. Yes, we’re still waiting for Snowpiercer Season 4.
MGM+ hasn’t just confirmed that the season will air. Deadline reports that the season will premiere on the streamer in April 2024.
The second season picks up off the back of the events of the first season finale. Aleph is now on the beacon and has turned it into a little more than a prison. The Artifact doesn’t have all the answers the inhabitants of the beacon needed. In fact, it brings up far more questions for us all to delve into. Can the people work together, or will their separate agendas get in the way of survival?
Beacon 23 is available to stream on MGM+, which is available via Amazon Channels.
