Will The Winter King come to Amazon?

The Winter King has found a home. Where will the series based on Arthurian legend stream online? Will you be able to watch it on Amazon?

If you love legends and lore about King Arthur, you’ve likely read the book series by Bernard Cornwell. The Last Kingdom and Strike author brought is The Winter King and more, which offers a much darker and likely more realistic version of King Arthur’s legend.

It’s almost time to see the 10-episode series based on the books. The series has been picked up, and we now know that it will be available to stream starting Sunday, Aug. 20. The big question for fans is where it will stream.

Is The Winter King on Prime Video?

We do start with some bad news. This is not a series heading to Amazon’s streaming platform. At least, not directly to the streaming platform.

MGM+ has picked up the series. This does mean you’ll be able to get it through Prime Video’s Amazon Channels. MGM+ is one of the channels, which has a free trial so you can see what the series is like before you invest in the channel.

What about the other way to watch on Amazon? This is all about buying episodes on Digital via Amazon Instant Video. It’s a great way to keep the costs down and have everything available via your Amazon account.

There is a good chance that the series will head to Digital. Usually, streaming platforms try to keep the content exclusive, but that’s not going to be the case for MGM+. You see, the series isn’t an MGM+ Original Series. It’s a British series that is being licensed through MGM+. It’s up to the British studios, and we tend to see them release content on Digital.

The Winter King premieres on Sunday, Aug. 20 on MGM+.
