Amazon has unsurprising but positive news about Fallout Season 2

It’s exciting news for Fallout fans. Amazon has made the unsurprising decision to renew the show.

While it’s unsurprising, it is good news. The series became the most watched series premiere globally since The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, and it’s clear that this caught the hearts of game fans and non-game fans alike.

We had already assumed there would be a second season based on news that arrived just ahead of the series drop. The show was offered a tax credit to move production to California for Season 2, and it was going to take up that offer. That hinted that there would be a renewal, and there are even chances that it was quietly renewed based on the hype for the series.

Fallout Season 2 will likely arrive in 2026

We’re not looking at this show arriving any time soon, though. A show like this will take months of production and post-production work. It’s more likely that we’ll get Fallout Season 2 sometime in 2026.

While this is disappointing in a way, a lot of Amazon’s big budget shows are taking their time to release new seasons. The Boys skipped 2023 (although yes, Gen V came out) as did The Lord of the Rings. The Wheel of Time skipped 2022. The focus as been on making sure quality content comes out, especially for shows that are heavy in the graphics.

Where Fallout Season 1 left off

There are no details about what to expect in Fallout Season 2 just yet. The first season (now spoilers!) ended with Lucy learning about who her father really is and how he has been connected to Vault-Tec all this time. As he left with one of the military suits, Lucy and The Ghoul headed off in search for more answers, for Lucy’s father, and for The Ghoul’s family.

Meanwhile, Norm found the truth behind Vault 31 and the Overseers of the past and present. He found himself trapped in the Vault, and it doesn’t look like anyone will come looking for him as they have no idea where he is.

As for Hank, he landed in what looked to be New Vegas. While the series is set in the future of the games’ years, it looks like some of the settings will remain the same. And since we know that some people can live for centuries, there is a chance that we could see some characters from the games.
