Amazon shows canceled
Three Pines
One of the first cancellations of 2023 was Three Pines. This series dropped at the end of 2022, and we had some hope that we’d get to see more of this inclusive and intriguing series. What made this cancellation hurt more was that it hit some of the charts for No. 1 watched show internationally at the time of release, so the cancellation didn’t make that much sense.
Ten Percent
If you missed the news about Ten Percent, you’re not alone. This was one of the shows cancelled in the summer, but it was done quietly. The London-set series followed a PR firm that had to deal with some of its clients’ biggest and most hilarious plunders. All publicist is good publicity, right? Well, that’s what this firm had to prove.
With Love
Three shows were canceled shortly after the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes came to an end, and fans are angry that this decision was made.
With Love was canceled after two seasons. The series brought a mixture of types of love. We saw romantic love, platonic love, and familial love. When it comes to romantic love, there was straight and queer love, making this one of the best and most progressive shows on TV. We needed more of it, and Amazon made a mistake canceling it.
The Horror of Dolores Roach
The Horror of Dolores Roach was canceled after one season. Based on a one-woman play, this is a Sweeny Todd retelling with a diverse and hilarious cast. The show gave us a look at just how far people are willing to go to survive and thrive, and we really want to know who Dolores went to strangle.
Shelter
Shelter was another series that brought us a diverse cast, making it another disappointing cancellation. We need more shows that have diverse leads! This one was a surprising cancellation in terms of following. After all, it was based on Harlan Coben’s popular YA series of books. Yet, the release in the strike period likely didn’t help as it didn’t get the promotion that it deserved.
