The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 is officially happening, but eyes are on when we could get it. Will it arrive in summer 2024?

It didn’t take too long for Amazon to confirm that The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 would happen. This renewal came in shortly after the second season premiered on the streamer, but the decision was made before that.

Of course, we didn’t expect to see the season right away. We’re not going to see the show in November. We also won’t see it at all in 2023. This is a show that is likely part of Amazon’s 2024 schedule.

When will The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 come to Prime Video?

Usually, we would say that the season would arrive in summer 2024. After all, the “summer” is part of the title of the show. We got the first season in June 2022 and then the second season in July 2023. We could have predicted August 2024 under normal circumstances.

We’re not in normal circumstances, though. SAG-AFTRA is still striking. While the WGA strike has ended so the writing work can start, production can’t start with SAG-AFTRA still on strike. There are no signs of that stopping just yet, although we hope to see the strike end before the end of the year.

This could push the return of the show to fall or winter 2024. I don’t think we’ll have to wait until 2025. Amazon doesn’t want to push too much to 2025, which is why A League of Their Own and The Peripheral were unrenewed during the WGA strike.

The third season is based on the third book. You’ll want to get through the series to find out all the spoilers. The series is certainly following the storylines well enough so far.
