Gen V renewed for Season 2 by Amazon
The Boys spin-off series Gen V has been popular with fans on social media. What about in the streaming world? Amazon certainly agrees.
If you love The Boys, there is no doubt that you had high hopes for the spin-off series. Fortunately, Gen V has not disappointed. The college-set spin-off has brought us the gore, the entitlement, the audacity, and everything else that made us fall in love with the parent series.
Of course, we are ready for more. The question was always whether the streaming numbers would be strong enough to renew the show, especially with the strike action still going on. Well, there is some excellent news for fans of the show.
Amazon renews Gen V for Season 2
TVLine reports that Gen V Season 2 is officially happening. The series is the No. 1 show on the streamer in 130 countries, and it is the most acquisitive Amazon Original in 2023. So, it’s really not all that surprising that the series has been renewed.
Of course, we have no idea what to expect just yet. There are still two episodes of Gen V Season 1 to go. We’ll have to wait until then to see what the cliffhanger is—there is always a major cliffhanger at the end of a season of any Eric Kripke series—and then see where the characters can go from that point.
When could we see Gen V Season 2? That is something up for debate. While the WGA strike has ended, the SAG-AFTRA strike is still happening. So, the writing work can start, but filming probably now won’t start until early 2024. That probably puts us into 2025 for this series to be released.
Gen V is available to stream on Prime Video.
