Jamie Foxx stars as Willie E. Gary in The Burial. What is this movie about, and is it based on a true story? Here’s all you need to know.
There are some great movies and shows coming out this week. One of them is The Burial. It’s based on a true story, and certainly brings some laughter, touching moments, and social commentary.
Of course, before you get into the movie, you’ll want to know what you can expect. Even when it comes to watching on a streaming platform, you still want to know what you can expect to make sure it’s worth your time. Time is something that we cannot get back.
What is The Burial about?
The movie follows the story of Jeremiah O’Keefe, played by Tommy Lee Jones. He owns a funeral home and opts to go for a handshake deal with a bigger corporation. Of course, things turn sour, and O’Keefe needs to turn to a lawyer to help him.
He turns to Willie E. Gary, a smooth-talking and charismatic attorney who is the only one willing to take on this case. He hasn’t lost a case yet, but the opposition brings in an attorney who is very determined to make this his first lsos.
Throughout the case, we see how tempers flare. We watch the laughter between the two men who you wouldn’t likely expect to bond, especially considering the place and time. Corporate corruption and racial injustice come up in this poignant movie.
You can currently watch the movie in theaters. It got a limited release for a week, and then it will head to Prime Video. It’s almost time to grab the popcorn and get ready.
The Burial is available to stream on Prime Video on Friday, Oct. 13.
