The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 is officially happening at Prime Video. Now the question for fans is how long we’ll need to wait for the season.
There was some great news last week. Amazon confirmed that The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 would happen. This renewal actually happened before the SAG-AFTRA strike action took place, but Amazon has only just confirmed it.
Now eyes are on when we will return to Cousins Beach. This is very different to normal seasons. Think of it as a little like when renewals happened during the pandemic year and nothing could film easily. Here’s what we know right now.
When will The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 premiere on Prime Video?
Don’t expect the season to arrive any time soon. Usually, we would say that we could expect it next summer, but nothing is usual about right now. The writers and actors are still on strike, which means all of production has ground to a halt.
While Amazon has confirmed the renewal, no work on it is going to start until the strike action comes to an end. That could be tomorrow, for all we know, but that’s highly unlikely. The studios need to come to the writers and actors with a fair deal about residuals and the use of AI. Those are the two sticking points for both sides.
Until the strike action comes to an end, we won’t really have an idea as to when The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 could premiere. We know it’s highly unlikely to be next summer. Will Amazon choose to wait until summer 2025 instead? After all, there is “summer” in the title? We could see spring 2025 instead. This would allow the show to catch that summer feeling that can happen in May. We’ll just have to wait and see for now.
The Summer I Turned Pretty is available to stream on Prime Video.
