Which book will The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 be based on?
The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 is officially happening, and yes, it is going to be based on a Jenny Han book. Which book is this season based on?
We’re not quite at the end of The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2, but we already know there is more to the story. Amazon has confirmed Season 3 is happening, a decision that was made pre-strike action.
The announcement trailer made it clear that we’re returning to Cousins Beach. It also shared the title of the book that this third season is going to be based on. To be honest, we kind of guessed which book The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 would be based on, but it’s always nice to get the confirmation.
The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 source material
The season will cover the third (and final!) book in Jenny Han’s Summer series. The title is We’ll Always Have Summer and it is set two years after the second book.
There are going to be spoilers if you haven’t read the second book from this point and you’re only watching the show!
At the end of the second book, Conrad tells Belly to go with Jeremiah. So, she does. And for two years, she and Jeremiah are inseparable. They even head to the same college, Finch College.
This seem like they’re great, but they’re actually not. Well, they’re not everything that Belly would hope for in a relationship.
Jeremiah ends up making a huge “mistake.” He cheats on her, and I hate the fact that it’s viewed as a “mistake.” Cheating is not a mistake, it’s a choice. I could go down a huge rabbit hole of thoughts on that. Either way, Belly has to decide whether Jeremiah is the right guy for her. Is this true love? What if her true love is Conrad?
It’s something Belly has to figure out throughout the book, and now throughout the season.
The Summer I Turned Pretty is available to stream on Prime Video.
