Prime Video has a new rom-com you’ll want to check out. It’s all about Red, White, and Royal Blue, but what can you expect in this storyline?

If you’re in the mood for a rom-com, Amazon has you covered this weekend. Red, White, and Royal Blue is out on Friday, Aug. 11. This is perfect for fans of the book and fans of rom-coms overall.

Yes, fans of the book. This is originally a novel by Casey McQuiston. The novel is called the same, and it follows the same storyline that has been adapted for the movie. Well, that makes sense since it is the source material. If you haven’t read the book yet, head to Amazon or your local bookstore to get a copy.

Red, White, and Royal Blue synopsis

What is the book and now the movie about? Is this going to be a story for you, and is it any different to all the other rom-coms you’ve seen?

Well, the main difference is the fact that this is an LGBTQ+ rom-com. The two leads are men. It’s no wonder it’s one of the highly-anticipated releases of the year. We don’t have enough rom-coms that focus on LGBTQ+ couples.

Alex Claremont-Diaz is America’s closest thing to a prince. He is the son of the President of the United States. Ellen Claremont is the President, and she has her son, her daughter, and the Veep’s granddaughter work together to create the perfect marketing strategy.

However, being a socialite does have some downsides. Photos that are leaked to the press are the biggest issue, and that happens for Alex when there’s a confrontation with his longtime nemesis, Prince Henry. Henry is the son of the British monarch and they are both at a royal wedding when the photos are taken.

Now the two need to do some damage control. They need to fake a friendship to get away from the bad press. What happens when the two realize that they may have more in common than they thought? What happens when they start to fall for each other? Can they be honest, or is this a secret they will need to take to the grave? I guess it all depends on how they want history to remember them.
