Everything coming to Prime Video in August 2023

A new month is almost here, and we’re ready to see what we can watch. Here’s a look at everything that’s arriving on Prime Video in August 2023.

While broadcast networks have been affected immediately by the strike action, streamers haven’t. Amazon still has some content to bring to us, and we’re getting some exciting new releases in August. There are plenty of originals as well as older movies and shows to enjoy.

There’s also some exciting news for those who follow the Amazon Channels news. PAramount+ with SHOWTIME is now a channel that’s available. You’ll get all your favorite content in one spot instead of having two different channels for everything you want to check out. It’s worth a look as you’ll get Paramount+ with favorites like Dexter and The Chi from SHOWTIME.

Red, White & Royal Blue, Shelter, and more

So, what is coming to Prime Video this month? Let’s start with the romantic movie Red, White, & Royal Blue. This is based on the novel of the same name and follows Alex and Prince Henry, the sons of a president and a king respectively.

There has long been a feud between the two families. However, they need to stage a truce, and that leads to the two boys meeting and eventually falling in love. Yes, it’s everything you would expect from this type of movie, but it’s representing gay love in a way that is needed.

If you’re more into the mysteries and thrillers, Harlan Coben’s Shelter has been adapted into a TV series. You usually see these adaptations on Netflix, but Amazon got this one. This series follows Mickey Bolitar, who is trying to start a new life after the sudden death of his father. When a new student goes missing, he decides to look into the details and finds some unimaginable secrets in the small town. Doesn’t it always seem like small towns have some of the biggest and darkest secrets?

Along the way, Mickey starts to look into his own family history. It turns out there are a few skeletons in the closet there.

There are other great additions such as the 1987 series Matlock and the newest comedy movie Cocaine Bear hitting the streamer.
