The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart is a new series heading to Prime Video at the end of the week. Is this another series based on a book?
As you look for something to watch, you’ll come across Amazon’s offering. The latest series, The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, will premiere on Friday, Aug. 4. The first three episodes will drop together with the rest of the series arriving weekly.
Of course, you want to know if this is a series with some sort of source material. A lot of shows now seem to be based on books or podcasts. We just have to look at the likes of The Summer I Turned Pretty, The Horror of Dolores Roach, and Daisy Jones and The Six. They were all based on other material and developed into shows for Amazon.
The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart book
This is another series that has source material. The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart is based on a novel of the same name by Holly Ringland. In fact, it is the first novel by Ringland and quickly gained the attention of those who wanted to option it as a series.
Published in 2018, the novel follows a young girl as she learns all about the realities of the past. We start with her being the age of nine when a fire claims the lives of her parents. When she heads to live with her estranged grandmother, June, at a flower farm, she learns all about the secrets of her past.
Alice has to grow up fast in the environment she’s in. She lives under the watchful eye of her grandmother and The Flowers, who are the women running the farm, but she still manages to get outside to fall in love and experience life.
When she meets Dylan, she immediately falls in love. However, it turns out that she may not be able to escape the abusive past that she starts to remember. Secrets follow and lead to choices that we wouldn’t usually make.
The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart will premiere on Prime Video on Friday, Aug. 4.
