The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 is based on one of Jenny Han’s books in the series. Which one is it, and are there any changes?

Belly used to count down the days until the summer, ready to head to Cousins Beach. This year is a little different. There are too many awful memories and things going on to really enjoy the idea of summer. She will try, though.

The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 picks up off the back of the first season. The truth about Susannah’s cancer is out, and it looks like she is trying to fight it for her sons. It’s not going to be easy, though, and she will need everyone around her.

Meanwhile, her boys are dealing with their love lives. They both want to be with Belly, and she’s struggling to choose between them. Who does her heart belong to?

Of course, you could get the basics of the story by reading the book that it is based on. It does look like there are some changes, though.

The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 adapts It’s Not Summer Without You

If you want to see how the story goes in print form, you’ll want to grab It’s Not Summer Without You by Jenny Han. This is the second book after The Summer I Turned Pretty and sees everyone dealing with the aftermath of the first summer the following year.

However, there seem to be some major changes. The first is Susannah. She isn’t alive in the second book, dying in between books, but it looks like she’s alive in the series.

The other big change seems to be Conrad being around. The second book sees Jeremiah call Belly for help when Conrad just ups and leaves after their mother dies. However, the teaser trailer for The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 suggests that Conrad is going to be in all the episodes. Of course, we could have some flashbacks to explain the changes.
