How many episodes are in Invincible Season 2?

Invincible Season 2 is just around the corner, but the season is going to be split in two. Just how many episodes will we get, and how many will there be in total?

There was some good and bad news while at San Diego Comic Con 2023. Robert Kirkman was there for the panel to bring us news about Invincible Season 2.

In some good news, we will get the premiere before the end of the year. In some bad news, we’ll have to wait for some of the episodes. This season is going to be split, and we can likely blame the strike action for that.

Invincible Season 2 episode count

Invincible Season 2 will premiere on Friday, Nov. 3. We will see one episode per week throughout the month. Only four episodes will air in 2023.

There are eight episodes in the season in total. The remaining four episodes are set to air in 2024.

It’s not completely clear why the season is being split in two. Amazon didn’t confirm that it was linked to the actors strike, but we suspect that it is. Post-production work is also on hold, so if anything still needed to be done for the last couple of episodes, it would be on hold until the actors are back to work.

Alternatively, Amazon may just be looking at ways to spread out the content that it has. Amazon is going to get to the point where it has no new content to release. The broadcast networks are always hit first with things like this—just look at the pandemic—but the streamers have a backlog of content. Amazon is probably okay to the end of the year, but needs to think about spreading out content for early 2024 as nothing new is being produced right now.
