Invincible Season 2 sets November premiere date: Split in two halves

The long wait for Invincible Season 2 is almost over. While the season will be split in two, the first half will arrive before the end of 2023.

Despite not being on the list of fall premieres initially, we had a feeling that Invincible Season 2 would arrive. Earlier this year, Amazon made a point of saying that the season would arrive in late 2023.

With the show getting a slot at SDCC, it was clear that news was coming. However, only Robert Kirkman was there for the panel. The actors couldn’t attend due to the current strike action, and that strike action is likely the reason for the bad news about the second season. It’s going to be split in two.

When will Invincible Season 2 premiere on Prime Video?

First, the good news. We’ll get Invincible Season 2 starting on Friday, Nov. 3. The episodes will be released weekly.

There are only four out of the eight episodes to come, though. We’ll have the whole of November with the next part of the story, and then we’ll need to wait until 2024. Why? Amazon hasn’t been upfront about the reasoning, but it does seem curious that the decision has been made just as the actors strike gets underway.

The actors strike is doing more than affecting production and promotion. It’s affecting post-production. If there was any work that needed to be done still that involved the actors, it has had to be put on hold. With animation, there is a chance that a lot of voiceover work was still needed for the second half of the season.

Amazon hasn’t said when in 2024 we’ll see the second half of the season. Usually, when streamers split the seasons in half, they tell us when the second part will arrive. It certainly suggests that the actors strike has something to do with it, and we’ll need to wait for the strike to end before we get a date.
