Citadel: Diana is not coming to Prime Video in July 2023

Amazon was so sure that Citadel would be a success, that it immediately started work on the franchise. Citadel: Diana is the first in that franchise.

Amazon didn’t even know if Citadel starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden would be a success or not. Yet, it was willing to take the chance by starting up a franchise. At the end of the Citadel Season 1 finale, we got a preview of the way the universe is expanding.

We’ll get a new series called Citadel: Diana. This is not a continuation of Mason and Nadia’s storyline. Instead, it’s a completely different storyline about another agent for, presumably, Citadel. And she’s presumably called Diana.

When will we get to see the story play out? Don’t expect it any time soon, but we have a rough time frame.

When will Citadel: Diana come to Prime Video?

This is not a series that we can expect to arrive this year. The preview for the series made it clear that we’ll get it in 2024. When in 2024 is anyone’s guess.

Amazon will likely want to space out some content when 2024 gets here. This is probably around the time that the writers strike will have an impact on the streamer. It didn’t have the time to build up its bulk of content since the pandemic, but it had some. However, with production so heavily delayed now due to the writers strike, Amazon and other streamers will start to struggle for content sometime at the start of next year.

Citadel: Diana has presumably been fully filmed. There are at least scripts, and there’s a chance that it is run by a team that isn’t involved in any of the U.S. contract disputes and strike action anyway. This could help to keep post-production going as planned and any other production work that may still be needed.
