DVD releases this week: Walker Independence and more
It is a very quiet week this week when it comes to DVD releases. That’s not surprising when you consider it’s July 4 on Tuesday.
Things are very quiet when it comes to DVD releases this week. When you consider it is July 4 on Tuesday, that shouldn’t be all that unexpected. After all, who is out shopping for DVDs on this day of the year? Stores are closed!
Those getting their DVDs on July 4 are those who are pre-ordering. Even then, nothing is being delivered. So, distribution studios aren’t going to want to upset sales by putting too many releases on this week. That’s why there are so many set for Tuesday, July 11!
Walker Independence and more
There are two releases happening this week. The first is Walker Independence, which is the prequel of the CW series Walker. It follows Abigail Walker, who comes to Independence, Texas in search of her husband’s killer. Her husband was supposed to be the new sheriff of the town, so of course, she has a lot of questions about the new sheriff running the show.
We also get to see how she integrates with the various people of the town and those on the outskirts. There is a Chinese immigrant, a Native American who finds himself balances between the Americans and his own people, a loveable rogue, and a woman with an intriguing backstory. Are they able to work together to get to the bottom of who killed Liam Collins?
The other release is the action movie Come Out Fighting. This one is set during World War II with the Americans being sent on a dangerous mission behind enemy lines. They need to find their missing commanding office. Think of it like Saving Private Ryan but looking for an officer instead. And they’re not trying to get him home before he’s killed for the sake of his family but to figure out what happened to him.
