The Lake Season 2 is now available to binge-watch on Prime Video. By the end of it, you’ll probably want a third season, but will that happen?
It took just a month for Amazon to renew its first scripted Canadian dramedy, The Lake, for a second season. That second season is here, and it’s just as brilliant as the first. We got to see Maisy-May deal with her mother being in town, while Justin had to figure out what he really wanted and go for it.
Now we want more. The big question is whether there is going to be a third season or not. Will Amazon cancel or renew the show?
Is The Lake Season 3 happening at Prime Video?
We start with some bad news. Amazon has not yet renewed the series. At the same time, Amazon hasn’t canceled it. Right now, no news is good news.
It’s not surprising that a renewal hasn’t come through yet. It’s not often that Amazon renews shows ahead of time. Just look at The Boys. Despite the second and third seasons getting early renewals, we had to wait to find out if there would be a fourth.
We could see a renewal happen within the next month. That would match the amount of time it took for the second season renewal.
The problem is there wasn’t much marketing done for this series. It’s possible that fans haven’t realized that it’s back. This is a downside of Amazon sometimes. There isn’t that much noise about a show between seasons, leading to a lack of viewership and then cancellation. Look at The Wilds, which deserved a third season in terms of writing but was canceled because the second season didn’t get the promotion that it needed.
The Lake Season 2 is now streaming on Prime Video.
