The Lord of the Rings Season 2 is currently in production. That means it’s not going to air this month. When can we expect it on Prime Video?

We would love to see The Lord of the Rings Season 2, but that was never going to happen this month. The show is still in production, so there isn’t anything for Amazon to bring to our screens just yet. Of course, that doesn’t stop people from wondering whereabouts in the production process it is.

Fans want to know when they can pick up with the story. They want to know more about the world that is being created and how it could connect to the original trilogy. That wait is going to be longer than we’d like, though.

When will The Lord of the Rings Season 2 come to Prime Video?

There’s some bad news in the wait time. We’re looking at 2024 at the earliest, and not even early 2024. This isn’t a show that we’ll likely see before summer of next year.

This all depends on current working situations. The Lord of the Rings isn’t shutting down production despite the writers strike. While a lot of other shows have decided that they will wait for writers to return in case of rewrites, The Lord of the Rings is such a big production that everyone decided to keep going as much as possible. It will be interesting to see what the outcome is with that.

However, there could end up being a production halt. The show may get to a point where extensive rewrites are needed, or SAG may go on strike, meaning the actors go on strike. This will directly affect production, which will delay the release.

As of right now, all we can do is wait to see how things work out. We’ll be sure to keep an eye on updates as they come through.
