Will there be a Season 6 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel?

It is “thank you, and goodnight” for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 5 this week. Will there be a sixth season of the hit Amazon series?

Mrs. Maisel will say her traditional “thank you, and goodnight” this weekend. There is a new episode dropping tonight at midnight UK time on Friday, May 26. That means Thursday, May 25 for the majority of us in North America. The big question for many is whether it’s going to be the last of the series.

Could we get more to Midge’s story? This season has been full of flashforwards, but it’s clear that there is more to tell. Does Amazon agree with us? What about the creators of the series?

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 6 is not happening

There is some terrible news. The Season 5 finale is going to be the series finale. If you felt like it was the end, that’s because it’s the way it was written. This whole season was set up as the final season. Amazon didn’t just drop the ending on the show. In fact, it was a creative decision.

Could this change in the future? Probably not. Again, it was a creative decision.

At first, there probably was going to be a little more ot the story before the pandemic. That caused a few problems with filming delays, and everyone looked at how to bring the story to an end. After all, this was a story that had to come to an end, and not just one that was canceled abruptly. It is something Amazon has offered to its longest-running shows, even if the endings haven’t always been that great. Yes, we’re still looking at you The Man in the High Castle!

It is bad news, but at least we saw Midge’s name in lights. We found out what happened between Midge and Susie, why Joel ended up in prison, and what would happen to Ethan and Esther.
