The Power Season 2 is not coming to Prime Video in May 2023

The Power Season 1 has come to an end, and now we’re ready to see what’s next. When will The Power Season 2 come to Prime Video?

We have to start this post with some disappointing news. We don’t even know if The Power Season 2 is going to happen. Amazon has not announced its renewal, but we know that the cast is interested in returning. This gives us some hope for the series.

By knowing that the series hasn’t been renewed, it won’t be surprising then to hear that the show isn’t going to bring new episodes in May. The finale is now available, so it’s going to be some time before we get new episodes.

With the way things ended in Season 1 (no spoilers here!), we certainly want a second season. There is much more to this world that could be developed and explored. Those in society scared of the women are certainly still a threat.

When could The Power Season 2 come to Prime Video?

The arrival of the second season will depend on when the show is renewed. This could depend on the WGA writers strike. While The Power has British writers, it could be a show subjected to delays due to the writers strike. This includes the negotiations for a second season. This is where we worry the most about the show. If negotiations take too long, Amazon could decide to move on from the series.

It took four years from picking up the series and bringing it to Prime Video. This was in the middle of the pandemic though, which delayed things considerably. It’s possible that without the pandemic, the production of Season 2 could be a little shorter, so we could be looking at 2024 or 2025 for The Power Season 2.
