There has been a lot of casting news about The Wheel of Time Season 2 lately. When can we expect the season to arrive on Prime Video?
We are certainly ready to see The Wheel of Time Season 2. It’s been a long wait for the series, but there is some bad news to start this post. We will not get the second season at all this month. We double-checked the list of May arrivals just in case, but it is nowhere on the list.
That isn’t surprising for two reasons. The first is a lack of promotion. Amazon would have given us the date by now if it was arriving in May. The second is a similar show currently airing on the streamer. The Power still has some episodes to air, and that fanbase could be somewhat similar to The Wheel of Time‘s fanbase. Amazon won’t want to release two similar shows at the same time.
When could The Wheel of Time Season 2 come to Prime Video?
We don’t have a release date just yet, but we do think 2023 is the show’s year. We could see it sometime in the fall. November would mark two years since the show’s first season premiered, so that could be a potential month.
There has at least been some casting news recently. Showrunner Rafe Judkins makes sure fans have something to help them through the break. Maja Simonsen and Ragga Ragnars will join the cast as Chiad and Bain respectively. These two characters are two members of the Aiel, which we know is going to be part of the second season.
The two are “first sisters,” and in their case, they have been bonded by an Aiel Wise Woman. We’ll hopefully get to learn more about that in the TV series as we do in the books.
Jay Duffy will also join the series as Dain Bornhald, a zealous member of the Whitecloaks who has a contentious relationship with Perrin. And Rima Te Wiata will play Sheriam Sedai, the Aes Sedai’s Head of Novices at the White Tower.
The Wheel of Time is available to stream on Prime Video.
