Can you believe that we’re getting to the end of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel already? We knew this was a show that would need to have an ending, and that’s what this final season is all about.

Of course, fans want to watch all the episodes in one go. That’s not going to be possible as Amazon is moving away from the binge-watch release. It’s testing out different types of releases to see which ones work best for shows. Mrs. Maisel Season 5 is getting something similar to many other big shows like The Boys and The Wheel of Time.

The first three episodes will drop at once. After that, we’ll get one episode every Friday until the series finale airs. Then you’ll be able to binge-watch the season.

Originally, the final season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel was going to have eight episodes, matching every season except the second. It looks like things changed in the writing to make sure all characters got the endings that they deserved. Amazon allowed the show an extra episode to be able to say goodbye to all the characters.

This isn’t unheard of. Carnival Row Season 2 was originally set for eight episodes and then it got two extra episodes when Amazon and the series decided to wrap the story up. While there is a small extra cost, it allows full closure for the viewers.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 5 premieres on Friday, April 14 on Prime Video.
