Imogen Spurnrose saw some major development throughout Carnival Row Season 2. Would it all lead to her death in the series finale?

Caution: This post contains major spoilers for the Carnival Row series finale.

If there’s one thing I love to see, it’s characters gain some great development. That’s what Imogen gains throughout the second season. In Episode 8, she made the decision to kill her brother, knowing it would be the only way for them to survive. However, she was captured again by New Dawn and forced to act as an envoy for New Dawn in The Burge.

Imogen ends up in the viper’s nest when it comes to New Dawn and the Sparas. She figures it out, but is there enough time to change things? Can she help save The Row, The Burgue overall, and her own life?

What happens to Imogen in Carnival Row Season 2?

During the finale, Imogen remains with the government. That’s where she remains after Philo shares that the Sparas is in disguise there. As the Sparas and Philo head to The Row, Imogen stays behind.

This is the best place at this point. Nobody heads back to the government until the very end.

After the fight comes to an end, we get a time jump. It’s clear that this time jump isn’t that too far in the future. We catch up where everyone is, and that includes Imogen, who is back home with Agreus.

Imogen sees what happened to Agreus’s horns—she’d received one of his horns as a warning to make sure she did what New Dawn wanted—and she makes it clear that the flaws are still a beautiful part of him. The two are together when they walk outside to where a crowd has gathered. We watch them turn on lights, suggesting that electricity has come to The Burgue.
