Can Vignette save Tourmaline in Carnival Row Season 2?

Carnival Row Season 2 brought a new monster that is threatening Tourmaline’s life. Can Vignette save her best friend from her fate?

Caution: There are some spoilers from Carnival Row Season 2, Episode 6 in this post.

Tourmaline had a vision of her own death. That death is at the hands of the monster that is killing human and fae. What has she done to deserve this death? That’s not clear, especially considering the monster saved Vignette from certain death, but does it matter?

All we know is that Tourmaline is destined to die. She believes that there is no way of changing that, but Vignette has other plans. Vignette has given up her place in the Black Raven to keep her best friend safe, but can she do it?

Can Tourmaline change her vision in Carnival Row Season 2?

So far, each of the visions has played out the way Tourmaline saw. Just think of Vignette’s time on the guillotine. Tourmaline never saw the guillotine swing. It is possible that if Tourmaline stayed in the vision she would have seen the creature attack.

Tourmaline hasn’t been able to change her visions, but she hasn’t tried to change them yet. She didn’t initially realize what was going on, and she is only just tapping into the dark magic despite her visions being a curse.

It is possible that the visions aren’t set in stone. Maybe if Tourmaline and Vignette can find a way out of The Row, the vision can be prevented. This assumes that Tourmaline isn’t someone the creature has in its sights, meaning that the creature comes after Tourmaline wherever she is.

Are the two really going to get out of the Row, though? Vignette wants to keep her friend safe, but everything is working against her right now. There are police everywhere and now Sergeant Dombey knows what he is facing and has Philo working with him (sort of). It’s only a matter of time before both Tourmaline and Vignette are pulled into that fight.
