Is The Rig renewed for Season 2? (Is The Rig canceled?)

The start of the year brought us the new British series The Rig. Would we end up with more to the terrifying story? Amazon has made a decision.

The way The Rig ended, things could go either way. Of course, there were still questions that we had, but we could have dealt with some of those questions unanswered if we had to. That’s the case with a lot of British TV shows, though.

Now there’s a decision on the future of the series. Will Amazon continue the story of Kishorn Bravo’s remaining crew members? Will we find out what the big conspiracy is that was going on with that supernatural fog?

Is The Rig renewed for Season 2?

There is some great news. Deadline confirms that The Rig is being renewed for a second season. The best thing about it is that Martin Compston, Iain Glenm and Emily Hampshire will reprise their roles. That makes sense considering this wasn’t written purposely as a limited series, and there is a lot more for their characters to go through and find out.

The second season will begin shooting in Edinburgh, Scotland later this year. That could mean a 2024 release date.

We’ll get to see how the Kishorn Bravo survivors will deal with the latest situation. The got off the oil rig that was surrounded by the supernatural fog, but now they’re going to an undisclosed location. That suggests that there is something bigger at play, and the riggers have gone from one danger into another.
