Yes, this is a series based on a book. The book of the same name is by Taylor Jenkins Reid, and it was based on her experiences growing up watching Fleetwood Mac on the TV. While the band in the book is fictional, it is loosely based on the erratic music scene of the 1970s. There will be elements that you recognize.
The book was published back in March 2019. It didn’t take too long for it to be optioned as a TV series, but things were slow to take off due to the pandemic. A lot of TV shows suffered because of that, with us seeing many shows abruptly canceled and others taking years to bring the new season out.
