Who is Leonora in Carnival Row Season 2?
Carnival Row Season 2 has introduced a couple of new characters. Leonora is one of them, and she certainly has some secrets.
Caution: This post contains some spoilers for Carnival Row Season 2’s first two episodes.
Imogen and Agreus were happy on their ship traveling the seas, but they were pulled in by a blimp. They were forced to The Pact, a place that Imogen has heard as being a militant state. We know The Pact and The Burgue were against each other in the war before the events of the first season, so we were expecting ruins and darkness.
It turns out that The Pact is nothing that Imogen learned about in school. There is beauty and peace. It turns out that fae and humans are living together. Imogen learns this from a faun who has her horns cut off, and she later learns that this is Leonora.
Who is Leonora in Carnival Row?
It’s clear that Agreus knows of Leonora. Maybe he knows her personally, but at this point, we just know that he knew her by name just by looking at the portrait of her in a house. This would suggest that she is a high-ranking faun—or at least she was before leaving their home country.
Is it possible that she is the leader of New Dawn? It would make sense why she was getting on with her day in the kitchen without being pestered. It would explain why she was calm in talking to Imogen, who was waiting to find out who the master of the house was. I was expecting to hear that Leonora was the “master” of the house.
New Dawn is the name given to the revolutionary group in The Pact. We can assume that New Dawn is the reason fae and humans live in peace together, and not everyone in The Pact is happy about that. It shows what could be in The Burgue.
Carnival Row airs Fridays on Prime Video.
