What has Ezra said about Imogen in Carnival Row Season 2?

Ezra was humiliated at the end of Carnival Row season 1. What is the story he’s told everyone about Imogen in Carnival Row Season 2?

At the end of Carnival Row Season 1, Aregus and Imogen escaped The Burgue. It was humiliating for Ezra, who was left beaten and somewhat penniless. His investments have gone south and he needed Agreus to be able to gain some money. However, his plan with Imogen led to Imogen falling for Agreus and escaping The Burgue.

Of course, Ezra would need to make up a story. He doesn’t want people to know the truth, but he is also a narcissist who needs sympathy from others. The story he told in Carnival Row Season 2 wasn’t that surprising when you consider that.

Ezra claims Imogen has been taken in Carnival Row Season 2

While at the dinner party, the topic of Imogen comes up. Ezra has told the story that Agreus kidnapped his “dear sister” and that he’s desperate to find her.

This works to the humans’ view of the fae right now. They don’t like the fae, and they are willing to believe that any fae will do something bad. There is a comment that the fae should have been pushed to The Row sooner to prevent something like this from happening.

The truth will eventually have to come out. If Imogen and Agreus ever end up back in The Burgue. people are going to learn that Imogen left out of choice. Ezra could at first claim that there’s a Stockholm Syndrome-type situation at play (not that it would be explained like that), but after some time, people are going to learn the truth about Ezra’s financial situation and Imogen’s love for Agreus.
