The Wheel of Time Season 2 is not coming in February 2023
Our eyes are still on when some of our favorite Amazon shows will premiere. The Wheel of Time Season 2 is one of those shows, but there is still some bad news.
The good news is that The Wheel of Time Season 2 is coming. The bad news is that the series isn’t arriving this month. Of course, we got that idea when the show hadn’t been promoted all that heavily in December or January.
Carnival Row is the big fantasy release in February. It doesn’t make sense for Amazon to bring out multiple fantasy shows at once. To keep subscribers each month, having something from the same genre needs to be released consecutively and not concurrently.
When will The Wheel of Time Season 2 come to Prime Video?
We know that filming of the season has finished. This is a show now in the post-production stage, and that does take a long time. It suggests that we’re not getting a release just yet. The good news is it will arrive at some point in 2023.
Showrunner Rafe Judkins has said to expect it this year. Speculation right now is spring or summer, and that would make sense with Carnival Row‘s release. We’ll see the finale of that show in the middle of April, which could put The Wheel of Time Season 2’s premiere at the end of the month or even the start of May. We’re expecting a weekly release like the first season.
Arguably, this is about what we realistically expected. We thought at least 14 months between seasons, which would put the release at February 2023. What we didn’t think of at the time was Carnival Row‘s release. Had we done so, we’d have probably said April 2023 instead.
The Wheel of Time is available to stream on Prime Video.
