Shotgun Wedding and more coming to Prime Video this week
It’s a new week, and it’s another quiet one when it comes to movies and shows streaming on Prime Video. Here’s a look at all the releases.
One thing that Amazon does is focus on quality content over quantity. As we get toward the end of each month, there isn’t usually as much arriving. Each week, we don’t tend to see the number of originals that the likes of Netflix will bring.
This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. We have time to check out all the releases at the start of the month. There’s also Freevee, the free streaming platform, which has more content arriving throughout the month.
Of course, you want to know what you’re paying for; and you want to make sure your money is going to worthy shows and movies. What is arriving on Prime Video this week, Jan. 23 to 29.
Shotgun Wedding and more
Shotgun Wedding is the biggest release on Prime Video this week. It’s an Amazon Original movie starring Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel.
They play Darcy and Tom, who are gathering with their families for their destination wedding. However, gunmen end up taking everyone at the wedding hostage, and the two will need to figure out a way to save their guests. They’ll also need to do it while not trying to kill each other, as they may not be right for each other after all.
You can also check out The King’s Speech this week. This is the Colin Firth movie that sees him star as King George VI before he becomes king. George was never supposed to be king, but then his older brother abdicated in favor of marrying Wallis Simpson. George—known as Bertie or Albert at the time—had one major problem: a stammer. The movie follows his journey to get over his stammer to deliver his first King’s Speech.
