With how well A World of Curiosities by Louise Penny performed on the list of most sold Amazon books, the move up on the most read list wasn’t surprising.

A World of Curiosities by Louise Penny entered the list of most read Amazon books the previous week, but we expected to see it move up last week. That was especially once we saw how it entered the most sold list during the week starting Dec. 4.

It wasn’t surprising at all to see the Penny novel gain eight spots last week. It was the highest moved up the list for the week, getting into the Top 10 snuggly. Could it move up into the Top 5 this week?

New Craig Alanson, The Choice down

There was another book that moved eight spots. This one was down the list. The Choice by Nora Roberts dropped into 18th place during the week.

It wasn’t the only big mover, either. Desert Star by Michael Connelly lost five spots, dropping out of the Top 15. The Lost Metal by Brandon Sanderson also lost five spots, dropping into 12th place.

There was one new addition for the week. Failure Mode by Craig Alanson entered in 14th place. Whether this moves up or down is tricky to say. It’s only available on Kindle and Audible, which are the two ways that the reads are counted, but it limits the way people are going to buy to then read.

The Top 3 saw a small change. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling gained a spot, knocking The Boys from Biloxi by John Grisham down a spot.
