The Wheel of Time Season 2 is not coming in December 2022

One thing we do know is that we won’t get to watch The Wheel of Time Season 2 in 2022. When will the new episodes air on Prime Video?

We knew it was a long shot, but we had hoped that The Wheel of Time Season 2 would be able to premiere in 2022. That being said, Amazon often takes at least 14 months between seasons, so we knew that there were chances we would have to wait until 2023.

Well, we are waiting. That’s been confirmed with the release of the listings on Prime Video in December 2022. The Wheel of Time Season 2 is nowhere on the list.

When is The Wheel of Time Season 2 coming to Prime Video?

The earliest we are going to get the fantastical series is in January 2023. This is plausible based on the 14-month rule. The first season premiered in November 2021, and we did see the renewal happen well ahead of the release. In fact, Season 2 was filming while Season 1 aired.

Filming wrapped earlier this year. It means the show is in post-production, and there may be time to get through that in time for January.

If not January, then we are looking at early 2023. This could be around April at the latest based on how releases usually work. We’re just waiting for Amazon to make a decision, which won’t happen until post-production is close to being completed.

We know very little about the season just yet. It is going to bring us a few new characters, as well as focus on Mat’s new face. As fans will know, Barney Harris isn’t returning for the second season and Mat will be played by Dónal Finn instead. The second season will also see the Dark One become a bigger threat. Will Rand al’Thor be able to get back to the group to save the world?
