We are more than ready to see the next part of the prequel story. There’s some bad news for those ready for more, though. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 isn’t coming yet.

After an exciting and thrilling season, we are more than ready for new episodes. There is some bad news, though. The Lord of the Rings Season 2 is not coming just yet. It was nowhere on the list of October releases on Prime Video.

Of course, we never really expected that. The first season has only just come to an end, and there’s no way we would see the second season right away. We don’t see that at all with other Amazon shows, so why would we see it with this epic story?

When will The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 come to Prime Video?

How long will we need to wait? This is where we come with some bad news. There’s a chance that we have a two-year wait on our hands. Inverse shared that bad news based on an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

We shouldn’t need to wait as long as we did for the first season. The delays with the first season were beyond anyone’s control, with the pandemic being partly to blame. There shouldn’t be these sorts of delays for the second season, which will help to keep some of the wait to a minimum. On top of that, the renewal for the series came back in 2019, allowing production to get underway as soon as possible.

That could still mean a wait, though. Inverse thinks October 2024. We’re hoping for a little shorter of a wait, but this gives us a good idea of what to expect.
