The Lord of the Rings TV series has come to an end today. Is this the final end? Will The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 happen?

The absolute epic first season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has come to an end. There is no way we’re ready for this to be the end of the entire series. We can’t leave things the way they were at the end of that last episode.

Don’t worry if you haven’t seen it yet. We’re not getting into any spoilers in this post. All we’re doing is looking ahead at Amazon plans. Will there be a second season?

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 is happening

There is some excellent news. We will get to see The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2. The renewal came through years ago.

Yes, years! Amazon made the decision back in November 2019.

This was exciting. At this point, we didn’t even have a premiere date for the first season. In fact, we didn’t even know the series would end up being delayed due to the pandemic. Amazon was just so certain that the series would be a big hit that it renewed it almost three years ahead of the premiere.

This did mean production could get started right away. Because of the time it takes to put this epic series together, Amazon needed to be proactive. Delaying the renewal would mean delaying the series coming back, and we know we already have a wait on our hands.

While we do know The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 is happening, we don’t have a premiere date just yet. It’s possible that we could have to wait a couple of years for it. We know it’ll be worth the wait, though.
