A new week is here, but it’s going to be a quiet one. The biggest release streaming on Prime Video has to be the Lord of the Rings finale.

There are only three new arrivals on Prime Video this week. It is certainly a case of quality over quantity once more.

It’s not like there’s nothing at all to watch on Prime Video this month. We had a huge drop on Saturday, Oct. 1, and there are some great releases still to check out. You’ll also want to spend the week binge-watching The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. After all, the finale drops this week.

Lord of the Rings, The Northman, and more

The biggest release streaming on Prime Video this week is definitely The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. The Season 1 finale drops on Friday, Oct. 14 at midnight ET. That means 9 p.m. on Thursday for those on the west coast.

The great news is we went into this season without having to worry about renewals. The series was renewed last year, allowing filming to continue to keep the wait for Season 2 to a minimum.

Also coming to Prime Video this week is the Focus Features movie The Northman. We weren’t expecting the movie to head to Prime Video as Focus Features would head to HBO. It looks like the contracts have changed.

Alexander Skarsgård stars as Prince Amleth, a man on a mission for vengeance. He was just a boy when his uncle brutally murdered his father and kidnapped his mother. Now he’s a Viking who raised Slavic villages, and when he meets a seeress, he’s reminded of his vow to kill his uncle to save his mother.
