If you’re in the mood for a 1980s-set horror movie, you’re in a lot of luck. My Best Friend’s Exorcism is now available to stream on Prime Video. This is based on the book of the same name by Grady Hendrix.

After watching the movie, you’ll certainly want more. That doesn’t mean there needs to be more, but you’ll want to see the actors back in their roles to see their lives after the exorcism. Will My Best Friend’s Exorcism 2 happen?

Will there be a My Best Friend’s Exorcism sequel?

So, what are the chances of more to this story? It’s highly unlikely. There just isn’t the need for a second movie. This first one tells the full story from the book.

There isn’t a sequel to the book. Grady Hendrix doesn’t tend to write book series. She sticks to standalone stories, and there are some excellent other options available to check out. They could all be developed into a movie or a limited series at some point.

Of course, Amazon may have other plans. Writer Jenna Lamia and director Damon Thomas may have other ideas. They may have more stories to tell, and that could lead to a sequel to the story. Or maybe there could be some sort of connection in another movie about exorcisms considering how everything came to an end.

I wouldn’t expect it, though. There’s simply no need for it, and we’re likely seeing this as a standalone movie to watch whenever you want. It’s going to be perfect for this Halloween.
