When is The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 coming to DVD and Blu-ray?

The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 has officially premiered on Hulu. We know it will arrive on DVD and Blu-ray, but when exactly will that be?

With The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 now premiered on Hulu, all eyes are on when the season will be available on physical disc. We want to add this series to our collection, and we know that will be possible. All four seasons of the series so far have had a DVD release, so why wouldn’t this season get one too?

We will also eventually see a Digital release. That’s going to take some time, though. In fact, all releases will take time considering this is a streaming series first.

When is The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 on DVD?

It’s hard to say exactly when the season will be released on DVD and Blu-ray. We can look at previous seasons to get an idea.

The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4 came out on DVD and Blu-ray just less then a year after the season premiered on Hulu. However, it only took three months from the finale for The Handmaid’s Tale Season 3 to get a DVD release.

It took around five months from the Season 2 finale for that DVD release, and Season 1 was just short of a year from the series premiere. Without any consistency, it’s hard to say what Hulu and MGM will do about the fifth season.

A year makes sense. Based on previous releases, we’re looking at around the beginning of September 2023 at the latest, and that’s possibly what this hit show will go with. Releasing the DVDs any sooner just takes people away from Hulu to stream it. How does that make sense for a streaming series that needs content to be exclusive?
