If you’re in the mood for a horror, The Invitation is now in theaters. Can you stream The Invitation on Amazon? Will that be possible in the future?
Nathalie Emmanuel and Thomas Doherty star in the latest horror movie to hit theaters. The Invitation is not to be confused with the movie of the same name from 2015. Funnily enough, both of these movies star former Game of Thrones actors who had scenes together!
The 2022 version of the title is about a grieving woman. Her mom has died, and Evie has no idea who the rest of her family is. After doing a DNA test, she finds a long-lost cousin and he invites her to a lavish wedding in the English countryside. She soon realizes that her family has a dark history, and there are twisted reasons for their generosity.
Is The Invitation on Prime Video?
Will the movie head to Prime Video? Not right away.
This is a Sony movie, and all 2022 Sony movies are heading to Netflix first. This isn’t going to be forever, though. These types of third-party movies do head to other streaming platforms at later dates, so there is a chance we’ll get to watch the horror movie on Prime Video at some point in the future.
Will The Invitation be on Amazon Video?
What about a Digital release? This would take the movie to Amazon Instant Video, and there is great news about this. Sony movies do get Digital releases, and we will see one for this movie. You’ll be able to buy the movie, get it added to your Amazon Library, and not worry about the Netflix subscription to watch it at home.
When will this be? There isn’t a date yet. Sony hasn’t been consistent with releases, but we’re looking at sometime around the beginning of October at a rough guess.
