Everything coming to Prime Video in September 2022: Lord of the Rings and more

A new month is almost here, and there’s some exciting content arriving on Prime Video. Of course, Lord of the Rings is the most anticipated release.

There is one release we need no introduction to. Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is the September release we’ve all been waiting for. This has been in the works for a number of years now, and we’ve known about the premiere date since the summer of last year! It’s not common for Prime Video to announce a premiere that early.

We will get two episodes on Friday, Sept. 2. Actually, the first two episodes will drop on Thursday, Sept. 1 in North America. Then from the following week, we’ll get one episode at midnight ET on Fridays. That’s 9 p.m. PT on Thursdays.

Thursday Night Football, Flight/Risk, and more

For the sports fans out there, Prime Video has been the home of Thursday Night Football for some time. It also aired on FOX, but that’s changing this year. From Sept. 15, we’ll get the games exclusive to Prime Video, and there are different commentary options available this way. Don’t forget the X-Ray options to learn more.

Do you remember the tragedy of two Boeing 737 Maxes crashing just months apart in 2018 and 2019? Of course, you do. This is still huge, and Flight/Risk looks into that. Dominic Gates takes us inside the families affected, the legal teams, and all the whistleblowers involved.

For those interested in a thriller, Amazon has a great original arriving. Goodnight Mommy focuses on twin brothers who return to their mom who has surgical bandages all over her face. On top of that, her demeanor has changed. Is it possible that the woman under the bandages may be someone else?

September Mornings is something worth checking out, too. This story follows Cassandra, who’s life turned upside down after giving birth to her son Gersinho. She feels completely out of control, and the last 10 years have pushed her to her limits. Can she get her life back on track?
