Lord of the Rings is bringing more and more teases of what to expect. Will The Rings of Power come to Prime Video in 2022?

We’re had the full title, and we’ve got a synopsis. There are even some character posters to get us ready for the new series. It’s not like this show has needed a lot of hype. Just the idea of getting it has us excited.

The Super Bowl brought us a teaser for the series. The Rings of Power asks us one question. “Haven’t you ever wondered what else is out there?”

This is set before the king, the fellowship, and the ring. It’s about the forging of the rings—as there was more than just that one we saw that was so precious in the original material. Now we just need a release date.

There is some excellent news.

Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is coming to Prime Video in 2022

We’ve had a release date for quite some time. Prime Video surprised us with such an early release of the premiere date. We usually find out release dates a couple of months before the shows are set to arrive.

However, we found out at the tail end of 2021 that we would get Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power in 2022. Sept. 2, 2022 to be exact.

Like many of the big releases now, this isn’t going to be a binge-watch. This is a show that is going to be released weekly. At this time, it’s not clear if we’ll get a set of episodes to binge-watch in the first week and then move into a weekly release like most Prime Video shows or whether it’s going to be straight weekly like The Expanse Season 6.

This is a show that needs the weekly release, though. It’s packed of adventure and storytelling that we’ll need time to dissect.
