Color us unimpressed. We have an update on The Wilds Season 3, and it’s not a good one. With The Wilds cancelled, there will be no third season.

We are not impressed with the latest decision by Amazon. It comes almost three months since we got to watch the second season, and we were hoping to see what the third stage of Gretchen’s project was. Now we won’t get to know.

Amazon has cancelled The Wilds after two seasons. The teenagers are going to be stuck in the social experiment forever!

Why is The Wilds cancelled after two seasons?

Deadline reported the disappointing news, sharing that the cast and crew learned of the decision shortly after it was revealed to the fans.

This was an important series for the streamer. The Wilds was the first of the YA slate of content to premiere, and it was the first to land a renewal. Prime Video has been focused on getting into the YA space, and the initial season was a huge success. There is still a fight for this with The Summer I Turned Pretty and Invincible.

It’s not clear why the show has been cancelled, but usually it’s due to the ratings. We don’t get to see the ratings for streamers unless they choose to reveal them, and Prime Video is usually quiet about them. However, there has been a lot riding against the shows recently.

Yes, we’re talking about the pandemic. It led to delays to filming, which has meant delays to getting the seasons. Carnival Row and Hunters fans certainly feel that pain. The reaction to the return of The Wilds wasn’t as big as the first season, and I’m sure we can all blame the delay for that. It has us worried about other shows.
