We’re heading back to the early 20th century to check back in on the Crawley family. It’s time for a new era to begin, and that means there’s a wedding. It also means a new adventure.

We’re heading to the South of France for this movie. The family will need to uncover the mystery behind a villa the dowager countess has inherited. Where did it come from, and what does it mean for the family as a whole?

While the movie is out in theaters right now, it will eventually come to DVD and Blu-ray. When is that going to be?

Downton Abbey: A New Era DVD and Blu-ray release date predictions

There isn’t a release date just yet. We have to turn to other movies by the same production studio to get an idea as to the release date. That means we’re looking at other Focus Features movies. We’ll use Licorice Pizza and the first Downton Abbey movie to get an idea.

It took three months for the first Downton Abbey movie to come to DVD and Blu-ray. Licorice Pizza took a lot longer, with almost a five-month wait. We can likely expect something on the shorter side, similar to the first movie in the franchise.

With that in mind, we’re looking at around the middle of August for the release date. If we had to put a date on it, we’d say around Tuesday, Aug. 17 for Downton Abbey: A New Era coming to DVD and Blu-ray.

The Digital release is likely to be out a couple of weeks before the DVD release date. We’ll be sure to keep an eye on the details.
