After a 22-month wait, Upload returned with its second season in March. Has Prime Video decided on its future? Is Upload canceled or renewed for Season 3?
While it was a long wait, there’s no doubt that it was worth it. Upload Season 2 was just as good as, if not better than, the first season. Of course we binge-watched it in a day. That meant the dreaded wait for the renewal news.
With a streamer like Prime Video, it’s hard to say whether a series is going to be canceled or renewed. We don’t get to see the live ratings to determine if the popularity is there to keep it going. However, we had some hope when Greg Daniels had said that the writing work had already started. Would that work be for nothing?
Is Upload canceled?
Prime Video has finally made a decision about the series. Exactly two months since the release of Season 2, we’ve learned Upload Season 3 is officially happening. TVLine shared the exciting news.
There is no time frame as to when we could see the season. Could another 22-month wait be on the cards? Potentially, but while the post-production process is long, some of the delay was due to the pandemic. We won’t have the filming delays this time.
Robbie Amell has joked about potentially pulling triple duty with the Nathans. Right now, there’s the real Nathan who suffered a worrying nosebleed at the end of the second season. There’s also going to be a rebooted version of Nathan brought some saved filed. Then there’s whatever Ingrid is doing with Nathan’s DNA.
Meanwhile, Nathan and the LUDDs are trying to prevent the free software being made available. They want to prevent people from uploading because it is all for some big ulterior motive for the rich.
Upload is available to stream on Prime Video.
