The Great Season 2 and more coming to DVD and Blu-ray this week

The last Tuesday of April brings some exciting movies and shows to DVD and Blu-ray. Here’s a look at the notable additions and the full list.

There are seven new DVD and Blu-ray releases happening this week. Some of them are certainly going to be bigger than others.

When it comes to TV shows, The Great Season 2 is likely to be a popular pick. The satirical series loosely follows the life of Catherine the Great. It’s certainly not heavily based on history, but it is absolutely entertaining. We know that The Great Season 3 is happening, but not when. For now, it’s time to catch up on the most recent episodes.

This is only coming on DVD. That’s not too surprising when you consider it’s a Hulu original. If a streamer needs to release content on physical disc, it’s not going to want to release that content in the best format. Why encourage people away from the streamer?

Moonfall, Superintelligence, and more

Another popular release fans will want to own is Superintelligence. Melissa McCarthy and James Corden star in this romantic-sci-fi-comedy. It focuses on a female corporate executive who focuses on regaining the affections of her ex-boyfriend, only to find that there’s a chance her life has been taken over by some sinister artificial intelligence determined to destroy all humankind.

The HBO Max movie came out in 2020. It’s about time that it got a DVD release date. Again, it’s only on DVD since HBO Max won’t want to share.

Moonfall is a movie from recent months that fans will want to own. It focuses on a threat that could destroy the human race. While it didn’t get a lot of great reviews from critics, audiences enjoyed the humor within it. You can get it on DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K.
