There is some excellent news for fans of The Crown and other British period dramas based on scandals of the past. A Very British Scandal is coming to Prime Video, and it’s packed with just as much scandal and shock as other shows. In fact, it could be packed with more!
Paul Bettany and Claire Foy star in this three-episode series. They play the Duke and Duchess of Argyll, with the series set in the 1960s. It all focuses on their high-profile divorce where their scandals were spread all over the tabloids.
A Very British Scandal synopsis
The series follows the high-profile and scandalous divorce between Ian and Margaret Campbell. It all starts with Margaret coming into Ian’s life, and she did so coming out of another divorce. This would have already made her a scandal for Ian Campbell, especially with him coming out of a divorce, too.
We see a lot of this series from Margaret’s point of view. It’s all about the scandals that she faced, with one photo kicking off the shocks and surprises that would come out throughout the divorce trial.
Will Margaret face the wrath of the British public? Will she decide to go away quietly the way the rest of the aristocracy would prefer it? She has to make that choice, but it has to be the right one for her. This is the ’60s, after all. Do you really think people are looking out for her back then?
A Very British Scandal is heading to Prime Video on Friday, April 22. All three episodes will drop at once.
