The Wheel of Time Season 2 is not coming to Prime Video in April 2022

We’re certainly keeping an eye out for some of our favorite Amazon shows. The Wheel of Time Season 2 is one of them, but the wait for it continues.

The Wheel of Time concluded its first season at the end of 2021. In fact, the finale was a Christmas treat, and that episode certainly left us with a lot of questions. Now we need more, but the wait continues.

While the full list of Prime Video releases in April 2022 isn’t out at the time of writing this, we can work out a few shows. We know that The Wheel of Time Season 2 is not going to premiere in April 2022. If it was, we’d have seen a lot of promotional material for it by now.

The Wheel of Time Season 2 release date predictions

The show is still filming right now, although it is coming to an end. After that, there’s a long post-production process to work through. That means we’re looking at the end of 2022 at the earliest for the new season.

Our sister site Winter Is Coming has brought an update about the release of the season. It’s not going to happen before Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. That’s coming out in September 2022 with a hybrid release, so the final won’t air until October 2022.

It makes sense to keep these shows separated. Amazon will want to make sure its big shows are spaced out to keep subscribers engaged. So, we’re looking at October 2022 at the earliest, and November 2022 would be a good time. After all, this would mark a year from the release of the first season.

What we now know is which books the season will follow. The Wheel of Time Season 2 will follow the second and third books. This isn’t surprising considering Rand seems to be on his journey in the third book, The Dragon Reborn. The other characters can follow the storylines from the second book, The Great Hunt.
