Master is coming to Prime Video tonight (March 18)
Are you ready for a horror movie that’s likened to Get Out and Us? You’ll want to pay attention to Master, coming to Prime Video tonight.
It’s almost time to tune into Prime Video for a night of horror. Master is available to stream tonight. The official release date is Friday, March 18, with the release happening at midnight GMT.
Of course, time zones work in our favor. There’s a good chance that we’ll be able to watch the movie tonight, Thursday, March 17. The release is likely to be around 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. While North American clocks went forward, British clocks haven’t yet so the time difference right now is shorter.
What is Master about?
The horror movie is perfect for those who love the likes of Get Out and Us. It brings up a lot of important social points while focusing on supernatural elements.
It focuses on three women who are at a prestigious New England university. Doesn’t sound that different to a lot of horror movies right now? Well, these three women are Black, and they’re at a predominately white university. They need to figure out how to find their place in an environment that doesn’t seem to want them.
And it’s not all about race. There’s something sinister going on behind the walls of this university. It’s going to be up to the three women to get to the bottom of it before it’s too late.
It’s worth noting that the university sits on what used to be gallows hill during the time of Salem. There is a dark past that the university needs to face as a whole, as well as something going on in the present.
Master was released at the Sundance Film Festival. The critics have given it an 80% rating on Rotten Tomatoes from that, sharing that it “can be didactic rather than truly suspenseful, but Master is an impressively well-crafted horror outing with a lot on its mind.”
