Is The Adam Project coming to DVD and Blu-ray?

The Adam Project is now available to stream on Netflix. Will it be a movie that gets a DVD and Blu-ray release?

The Adam Project is not likely to be available on Amazon in any way. This is a Netflix Original Movie, which means it won’t head to Prime Video for free with your Prime membership. There’s also no need for Netflix to release it on Digital, so it’s unlikely to come to Amazon Video.

But what about on DVD and Blu-ray? Is there a chance that the Ryan Reynolds movie will get a physical release?

The Adam Project may come to DVD and Blu-ray

There is a chance that the movie will head to DVD and Blu-ray in the future. While not a lot of Netflix movies do get the physical release (and we’re not expecting it for the likes of The Weekend Away), there is something different about The Adam Project.

This is a movie that’s had a limited theatrical release. This means the production studio expects a bigger financial return than just heading to streaming platforms will offer.

We’ve seen movies like The Marriage Story and The Irishman head to theaters and then head to Netflix. They’ve ended up getting a DVD release. If this happens with the latest sci-fi dramedy, we’re looking at the DVD release to be at least six months from the Netflix release. This means we’re looking at September 2022 at the earliest.

There’s no guarantee that the movie will head to DVD and Blu-ray, though. Not all of them do, even if they do get a theatrical release. It will all depend on the contracts between Netflix and the production studio.
